Yanmar History

Yanmar, a Japanese company that has been around for over 90 years, is considered a leading producer of quality diesel engines. They manufactured the first horizontal diesel engine (small) in the year 1933. They started manufacturing small tractors in the 1960's. John Deere partnered with them in the 1970's, with Yanmar building compact tractors for John Deere. As of 1986, they shipped more than 100,000 compact tractors for John Deere to the U.S. market. To this day, John Deere uses Yanmar's diesel engines in their compact tractors.
